Alan Macpherson's musical journey began at thirteen with the gift of an acoustic guitar and a drive for the stage. After decades spent fronting and supporting bands across Canada and Southern California—including Bill Smith, The Crayons, Superball, Whatever and currently Prince Edward County's The Barn Bandits—Macpherson has transitioned more to his studio.
While the stage was a primary musical outlet, crafting songs in the recording studio remained a long-standing obsession. Now, with a lifetime of gear and production expertise finally meeting the luxury of time, he has turned inward. His latest project, Hopium in the Basement, is both a literal location and a creative manifesto: a declaration that unfinished songs never expire—they simply get better with age.
All singles from Hopium In The Basement are available now on all major streaming platforms. More music coming soon.
